Getting startedSet up two-step verification

Set up two-step verification

Every Adversary X account must use two-step verification with an authenticator app. Until you set it up, every page sends you to the Set up two-step verification screen.

You need a phone or other device with an authenticator app installed. Any standard authenticator app that shows time-based codes will work.

Set it up

  1. On the Set up two-step verification screen, open Security in the account panel.
  2. Choose to add an authenticator app.
  3. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app.
  4. Enter the code your app shows to confirm.
  5. Select I’ve set it up, continue.

Adversary X checks that two-step verification is on, then takes you to where you were going.

If you see “Two-step verification is not on yet”, the authenticator app was not added. Go back to Security, add it, then try again.

When you add the authenticator app, you are given a set of backup codes. Store them somewhere safe and separate from your phone, for example in a password manager. If you lose your phone, you can sign in with a backup code instead of an authenticator code. Each code works once.

Passkeys

You may be able to add a passkey to your account. A passkey on its own does not meet the two-step verification requirement. You still need an authenticator app.

Change your authenticator later

  1. Go to Settings, then Security.
  2. Under Two-factor authentication, select Manage.

The badge next to it shows Enabled when two-step verification is on.

If you lose access to your authenticator app, sign in with one of your backup codes, then set up the app again under Settings, Security. If you have no backup codes left and cannot sign in, email support@adversary-x.com from the address on your account. Never send us your codes or your password.

Not ready yet?

You can select Sign out on the set-up screen and come back later.
